Fuel LevyMay 29, 2023
Re: Update on Fuel Levy
MRL Global has reviewed its fuel rate structure that is more appropriately proportioned the way our customers are charged for the variable fuel component within their rates. Australian transport operators currently pass on increased fuel prices either through applying a fuel surcharge and/or by incorporating fuel cost into their base rates structure. At MRL Global we have applied a fuel surcharge to our transport base rates and charged accordingly as fuel prices have steadily increased to $2.28 cents per litre (exclusive of GST) over the past few years.
Effective immediately from Monday 28 November 2022, General Fuel Levy will move from 23.19% to 14.95%, with the difference to be incorporated with the base rates. It is important to note that this has a zero $ impact to the cost of freight, it is simply an adjustment in the overall calculation of the freight charge.
